Romans 14: 5
“One man judges one day above another; another judges every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own mind.”
The Holy Spirit recently convicted me about being fully persuaded in my faith. I receive articles from a friend who is a Seventh Day Adventist. She sends me articles about the Sabbath day in particular. I told her that I would keep “an open mind” about the Sabbath day, in particular about whether we still need to uphold the Sabbath day. Also, the day we observe as the Sabbath.
In my page “Today is the Sabbath Day,” I put scriptures forward about my belief that every day can be a Sabbath Day to the Lord. Because I kept an open mind about what I believed and wrote about, the Holy Spirit took me to the scripture in Romans 14: 5. Unless you are fully persuaded about your beliefs, you will still be in doubt about what you believe. There are other issues that we need to clarify.
1 Timothy 4: 1 – 3 “Now the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith and pay attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their consciences seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.” The KJV says, “commanding to abstain from meats.”
Romans 14: 17 says, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” You make up your mind about what you will or will not eat or drink as unto the Lord. So, every day is a Sabbath Day or holy day unto the Lord for me. I do not restrict myself to any particular day or place where to worship God. I worship God in spirit and truth.
The message of the Bible is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and all these things will become apparent to you – Matthew 6: 33.
