What is Christmas about?

Christmas is supposed to be a time for us to focus on the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. The world, with the help of satan, has since changed it into a heathen holiday. The reason Jesus came to live in this world was to die and reconnect us back to our heavenly Father.

Let’s not forget Jesus and what He means to the world during this festive time of year!

IS HELL REAL?

What others believe

Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that God will not punish anyone in hell – that it is a common grave where there is no life. I too did not want to believe that God would allow His creation to be sent to a place of eternal suffering called hell. God is love, so why would He even allow such a place to exist?

If you don’t believe that there is a hell, then you might as well not believe in heaven. Jesus preached the love of God but also warned about the consequences of not loving Him.

Matthew 25: 46 "And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Many people might have seen the twitter post by Marty Sampson who questioned his faith. One of the questions he struggled with was the question of hell and why a God of love would send people there. You cannot question God and His motives without reading the bible and asking revelation from the Holy Spirit. For answers from God – read your bible!

Isaiah 45: 7 "I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things."

Just as God called the light to appear in Genesis 1: 3; he wants us to live in His light and love and not move around in the darkness where sin thrives.

Genesis 1: 4 "God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness."

God calls us away from the darkness – to move into His light which is possible through Jesus Christ. God is the same One who created heaven and hell.

Matthew 25: 41 "Then He will say to those at the left hand.'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels."

Many people who don’t know the bible grapple with the thought of there being a place called hell. They cannot believe that God would create a place where disobedient and evil people will be sent to live in perpetual suffering.

2
Peter 2: 4 "For if God did not spare the angels that sinned, but cast them to hell
and delivered them into chains of darkness to be kept for judgment…"
Verse
9-10 "then the
Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the
Day of Judgment, especially those who walk after the flesh in pursuit of
unclean desires, and despise authority."

We have been warned!

Well, we have been warned just as the people in Noah’s days were warned that the earth would be destroyed by water. Why were Noah and his family the only ones who survived?

Genesis
6: 8 - 9 "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Noah was a just man and
blameless among his contemporaries. Noah walked with God."

Death is inevitable for human flesh on this earth but the soul will depart to a spiritual place – either a place of torment or reunited with our Heavenly Father. God is holy and pure and any soul who is not consecrated by living a life through His Son, Jesus Christ, will not be allowed to enter into the gates of Heaven.

Matthew
11: 23 "Do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the
soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Death is a spirit and the enemy of mankind. Jesus has overcome the spirit of death through His blood sacrifice. Anyone who accepts Jesus as the only way to the Father is able to claim victory over death.

1
Corinthians 15: 26 "The last enemy that will be destroyed is
death."

Your body is still subject to death on this earth, but if you are a believer in Jesus, the second death will not have power over you.

Revelation 20: 14 – 15 “Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

You must live by faith in righteousness

The very reason you were sent to live on this earth is to test your faith. Will you believe the testimony of the Lord and live according to righteousness the way Jesus lived on earth? You have been called to live by faith. 1 Peter 1: 6 – 8.

Created to worship You

Lord,

As I step out in faith

Forgive me if I step on toes

Let the words I speak

Be soothing

To those who are bruising

Help me to do your will

I cannot do it my way

Holy Spirit within me

Is your seal of guarantee

My adoption into your Kingdom

Is what I will receive

All glory goes to you

As I worship you

In spirit and truth

My whole life

I dedicate to you

I was created

To worship You

Worship in spirit and truth

I don’t want you to worship Me on a mountain

I don’t need you to build Me a temple with your hands

I don’t want sacrifices and offerings burnt on an altar

I don’t need your works to please Me

No, I have done it all

Worship Me in Spirit and in truth

For I died for you, so I can live in you

Surrender your life so you can live in Me

Worship Me with your spirit and with your life

I am seeking those who will worship Me

In Spirit and in truth

My word is your lamp and your light

My word is truth

Worship Me with your heart

And not with your hands

Everything you are must worship Me

For everything that exists is in Me
