Prayer – Colossians 1: 9 – 23

Prayer for knowledge, wisdom, and understanding

Prayer is powerful, but if you don’t know how to pray, this could help. I converted part of chapter 1 of Colossians from verse 9 to 23 as a prayer.

Lord, I give thanks to you for sending Jesus to die for me. I pray and ask that You fill me with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and understanding. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You, to be fruitful in everything I do. Let my knowledge of You increase as you strengthen me with Your power so that I can endure everything with perseverance, patience, and joy.

Thank you that You have enabled me to be a partaker in Your inheritance of the saints. You have delivered me from darkness and transferred me into the kingdom of Your dear Son, Jesus Christ.  I have redemption through His blood and forgiveness of sins. Jesus is your image and the firstborn from the dead of every creature. Every visible or invisible thing, whether they are thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers You created by Jesus and for Jesus in heaven and on the earth. Thank you, Father, that you reconciled me to Yourself through the blood of Jesus on the cross through whom I can be holy and blameless in Your sight. Help me continue in the faith, to stay grounded and settled in the hope of the gospel in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
