A Samaritan woman met Jesus at Jacob's well. When Jesus asked her for a water drink, she replied that Jews don't mix with Samaritans or even speak to them. Jesus tells her about Him being the living water. She answers that everyone knows Jerusalem is where Jews worship, and her people worship on the mountain. Jesus replied in John 4: 23 - 24,

"Yet the hour is coming and is now here when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For the Father seeks such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth.”

True worship is an act of expression that comes from the heart and is guided by the Holy Spirit.
